Creativity, Marketing Know-How, Years of Making Every Mistake in the Book

Pre-History Era

Founder Casey Evertsen grew up in an entrepreneurial family. At one point, they had a helicopter business in Branson, MO.

His first “real job” was selling socks for a Chinese manufacturer and he learned a lot. Most importantly, he figured out that creativity goes a long way in business.

Remember these “Spirit Sleeves” were all the rage in college sports for a time? They’re socks without the end sewn together and he came up with that.

Casey came up with these sleeves.

Gen-1 Can Cleaning Begins

He made some additional moves in corporate America but never felt like he had found the right fit or lifestyle he desired, so he and Co-Founder Steve Terry started playing with ideas for a new service: garbage can cleaning.

They created their own rig by modifying a commercial truck body.

There were others looking at the wide open opportunity as well and within a few years a cottage industry of equipment manufacturers sprang up, selling fancy trucks with hydraulic lifts and huge capacity as a “business in a box.”

The Failure Rate Was Staggering

Guess what happened?

Those trucks were back for sale within a year and their purchasers were out of business.

Why? Because a specialized vehicle is not a business. It allows you to provide a service faster than you could without it, but you need customers to purchase the service.

A business requires marketing, sales, customer support and administrative resources. Those failed startups didn’t know the first thing about getting customers and building deep, efficient cleaning routes, so they couldn’t even pay their vehicle notes.

But Bin Blasters Kept Growing

Did we tell you Casey was creative? He was one of the early pioneers of going deep on branding. The DIY rigs became rolling billboards, and people loved it!

He started developing his social media content game and grew his TikTok following to over 250,000 followers.

Do you know what he talks about? Can cleaning. Seriously. And TikTok actually uses him in its advertising.

He was great at boots-on-the-ground marketing, social media content, and recognized that sales funnel development was critical overall.

And Steve Kept Creating Better Tools

Steve Terry is wildly creative, too. He used to build luxury homes.

He loves big boy toys and putting his mind to work on each new rig was something he couldn’t help but love.

Each rig had better components, better configuration, more flexibility, more efficiency, and even better signage surfaces for the “rolling billboard” nature of the business.

And the Industry Took Notice

Some guys have it and some guys don’t. Growing a successful business isn’t about being “naturally gifted” like some pro athletes. It’s about the discipline to keep going and keep growing.

Casey and Steve used their combined areas of expertise and pulled in the best experts & resources they could find to develop systems for:

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Job Routing
  • Equipment Manufacturing
  • Parts Distribution

And then can cleaners started reaching out saying, “Hey, guys. Can we get you in our corner?”

So Bin Blasters Became Available As a Franchise

With the team from The Franchise Dept guiding them towards being a best-in-class franchisor, the team said let’s give these aspiring can cleaners across the country what they want:

  • A Vetted Plan:
    • Operations
